Charlotte County, FL – Charlotte Technical College is excited to announce a significant donation of $1,500 from the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 565, based in Punta Gorda, Florida. This generous contribution will support the college's ongoing efforts to enhance and expand its aviation programs through the Propelling Futures Campaign.
The donation will directly assist in the development of a state-of-the-art Aviation Training Facility at Punta Gorda Airport, aimed at elevating the training for FAA-certified Airframe & Powerplant Mechanics. This initiative is crucial for meeting the increasing demand for skilled aviation professionals in southwest Florida and beyond.
Larry McClure, President of EAA Chapter 565, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "Our EAA chapter is proud to support state-of-the-art training for the next generation of FAA-certified Airframe & Powerplant Mechanics at PGD. We understand the pivotal role of Charlotte Technical College, and how important this new facility will be to meet the growing demands of the aviation workforce in southwest Florida."
Charlotte Technical College is deeply grateful for this partnership with EAA Chapter 565, as it not only enhances the educational opportunities for its students but also strengthens the regional aviation industry.
"We are immensely thankful to Larry McClure and all the members of EAA Chapter 565 for their support," said Cynthia Gulsby, Director at Charlotte Technical College. "This donation is not just a monetary contribution; it's an investment in our students and the future of aviation in our region."
